Hi! This is my first post here, so my apologies if I'm not doing this right.

I'm taking a bus-group (30-50 people of various ages) on Nov.1st, from Zagreb-Croatia to a fair in Munich. It's a traditional annual trip, but it's been a while since we've managed to pull off (in a financial sense) a 2-day-trip. We'll be at 'Mineralientage2008' fair all Nov.1st (Saturday), and should go to a hotel after 19.00 hrs for a dinner and an overnight stay.

My question is this: is there a hotel anywhere between Munich and Salzburg (give or take 20 km) that: A) can accomodate a group of 30-50 people, B) is open on Nov. 1/2

I know of Landgasthof Torrenerhof in Golling, Austria. I'm just looking for backup solutions.

Thanks for any and all information! :)

I *know* there're hotels in that area, but whenever I try to find one that suits my travel plan and group (besides Torrenerhof) it's either too expensive (we can't afford more than ca. 40 Euro per person for HB) or too small for a bus group. And some hotels close for vacation before the winter season starts.
One year a hotel cancelled our reservation for 50 people (because they'd found a higher-paying customer ) 6 hours before our trip started, which was NOT a pleasant experience. So, I'm a little cautious about where and how I'm taking my group.

It's definitely tough to find a booking for such a large group of people, but you still have some time. Have you considered using something like our 'sister site' groopii (more hostels than hotels, but with such a large group that might not matter)? You file a request with details and someone goes out contacting properties to find something suitable. It's a free service (the hotel pays a commission to the agency for their work) so it just saves you time really :)

Another one I know of that does something similar (although more tailored to the US I think) is called hotelplanner!

Thanks for the info, Sam I Am! :) I haven't known about the Groopii site! I'll check out the Hotelplanner, too, but I think I've been there before without much luck.

I'm looking for a hotel because I expect to have passengers of all ages, so a hostel is not really a solution for us (besides, as I've seen, most cost as much as cheaper hotels). It is difficult to find accomodation for a group that big, though, especially because of the timing - the fair we're visiting, Mineralientage, attracts many exhibitors and visitors, so all hotels, hostels and motels in the area get booked waaay in advance for that particular weekend.

Anyway, thanks again!
