Hi all, will be going to KL at the end of November and am wondering how cheap the shopping is there? What are the cds/dvds etc like at the market? Also wondering if electrical items such as portable dvd players, cameras and psp's etc are cheaper here? Does anyone have any ideas?

Also is Sunway Lagoon worth my effort?

Cheers All

Rach!

there are loads of bargains to be had at the markets - we got loads of very cheap CDs and DVDs. i can't remember the exact prices - probably higher than other places in SE asia but the quality of DVDs we got in KL was definitely better. Not sure about the other stuff you mentioned but I would think you should be able to get some good bargains on electrical goods.

Hi,

Malaysia does indeed have really cheap VCDs and DVDs, tons of which are pirated stuff. However, the quality is just as good as the real thing, so do watch out. Get them to test the discs before you actually buy them. If the DVDs and VCDs don't come in a box, they're pirated stuff.

If you're looking for electronics, you may be better of going down to Singapore if you have the time. It's definitely cheaper here, and have more of the latest models and gadgets. Nonetheless, Malaysia is still cheaper than in some other countries. :)

Cheap VCDs and DVDs are cheap here. Especially in Chinatown and Sungai Wang area. Most of the VCDs and DVDs are pirated stuffs. I visited Sunway Lagoon are just fine. Heard that they had added few more games from kids and adults. Worth trying;)
