Hi, im traveling with my husband- we are going from Switzerland to Milan for a day, Venice for a day, Greece (Athens, Santorini, Mikonos) for a few days and lastly to London before returning back home. Any suggestion on how to get around (something fairly inexpensive, and not complicated)?? Please help!!!!
Also could you give me some hotel suggestions???

I believe buses would be your best bet. Water taxis in Venice are a blast (at least as a kid, When I was last there). You could always consider tent camping. They have Campgrounds all over Europe. Save big $$$ on hotels plus more of a community atmosphere!

That is a very very ambitious schedule. I would skip Milan and spent more time in Venice.

Greece to London is best by flight.

Switzerland-Milan-Venice is a candidate for Eurostar train. You need it fast rather than inexpensive. See

Italy-Greece-Greek islands is best done by ferry.

Hi Lauren It depends what type of flair do you like. If you would like to be in a Historical City and be living for few days like in the late 14 Ctry so i do recomend Venice, but remember that Vernice is extremly expanssive and in a 3 stars hotel you must be paying near bye 159 Euro per night per dubble room. i recomend you to stay in Mestre its the city on the coast in front of venice. Like that you can economize a lot by the hotel price 60-80 Euro per night and by food. You can reach venice very cheap by train from Mestre, i am not sure how expansive is the train ticket now but before 2 years it was 1,20 Euro one way.
Padua is a relative modern City with a historical Centrum like they are many in Italy. Milano is Expansive and good for Shopping.
I have organized a trip for a US-American Family last year and one of the Destinations was Venice. They was´nt really Excited because of Venice because it is full of Tourists and Ratts, they was wondering why the city is not Restaurated and in many parts the buildings are more ruins then houses. But not evrybody loves the same
To come to Greece from Italy you can look for Offerts by easyjet, wizzair, german wings, Air berlin, Ryan Air etc. but i think that the trip will become really expanssive. Specially whern you dont organize all the transfers before you start the Trip.
The problem will be allways the money or the time.
I recomend you to the Bus Travel company Touring they are on every Mainstation in all bigger European citys.
How many days of Vacation do you have and what are your primary targets? what ist Important fpr you to see and visite and what not that much? Why do you want to start in the middle of the route in Swizterland and not at one of the finals in Greece or England?
By any questions just wright at tomasino290276 @ hotmail .com
