I was thinking of staying in Santa Elena as it was less expensive there for accomodation than in Monteverde. Is it worth the savings though if it is difficult to get from Santa Elena to the tours in Monteverde?

Hi,

we stayed in Santa Elena this year and like it very much. From what I've seen the tour operators there also offer tours to Monteverde, so there should be no problem to get there. But Santa Elena Reserves are also very beautiful and not so overrun by people as in Monteverde. We made a canopy tour near Santa Elena and a walk across the hanging bridges and it was just great - you can see some pictures on our homepage.

Filika - Best regards,

Silke

Should be no problem! I guess the tour operators pick up clients from both towns.
