It's just 1 h by train far from Cinque Terre, and the season is absolutely perfect.
There are some of the best wines in the world and great restaurants, linked to the Slow Food organisation, which is spreading all over the world but started from the city of Cuneo.
Medieval towns like Barbaresco or Barolo are known just by some Eu travellers, and there are loads of wine makers that offer wine tasting for reasonable prices.
It's be a nice variation and it's far from the beaten tracks.
