Hey guys

Will it be easy to get money out with my Cirrus/Maestro card in Guatemala and Mexico and other Central American countries? What are your experiences with this card? Would I be better off taking another debit card just in case (one with a visa symbol on it)? They're all UK based accounts, if that helps...

Thanks ;)

You can use the cirrus / maestro just about everywhere. Some banks use this system and others visa. It´s a good idea to take a visa debit card just in case the cirrus / maestro bank is not in a small town.

I also use a uk cirrus / maestro and I´ve only had to use my visa card in Nicaragua and in Colombia in some small towns near the venezuelan border.

Hope this gives you an idea.

Hi Same advice for El Salvador, I would reccomend that you bring both cards, the HSBC and Scociabanks take virtually every card many of the other atms will only accept 4 digit passwords. Hope this helps
