i could have saved more money, if I didnt check out rates online.
I didnt know you can get 2.5 dollar singles rooms in PP, Cambodia.
and I though the lowest rates in Siem Reap is 7 dollars.
apparently, even 1 dollar dorm rooms exist.
I should have gone to Siem Reap earlier...
Now I need cheap dorm or single room in Bangkok.
SOMEONE TOLD ME That at the end KAO san ROAD, I CAN find a 100 baht hotel.
100 baht at KSR? Good luck. Let us know what you find.
actually there are 100 baht single rooms at the end of KSR!
and inside on tiny street of KHAO SAN ROAD, a dorm room for 70 BAHT exist.
You don't find this info online.
I usually look on the various hotelbookers/world sites and then get an idea if there is a cluster or hostels in that areas or in the guidebook. Then if I arrive within a decent hour I head out and hunt for the best hostel in the area for me.
Booking online has it's advantages. Also disadvantages. I would shudder at the thought of ending up in a party hostel, or a smokers haven. But through looking at such sites you can pretty much figure out which ones are which. Reader reviews are good for that.
Also these websites do not take into account the off season rates often available.
