Just a lot of blabla in my opinion, mainly aimed at people with limited knowledge about travelling. In my book the only way to go about it is to save as much as possible not just on flights, but also on accomodation and food when travelling. One powerful tool when doing that is budgeting, ie knowing the prices, thus knowing what is a bargain and planning on what you need to spent money on in advance. Essentially you sit down and calculate costs, much like a travel agent would do before selling a package deal, and then look at each expense seperately.

One thing ive found that helps is never accept the 1st or 2nd price, even if you want to, and that goes for anything from flights to food. Shop around, get wise to how much things really cost and youll start to see ways of cutting corners, maybe at the expense of time or luxury, but if it keeps you on the road havin experiences for longer then time and certainly luxury are well worth trading off. Basically what im saying is research, research, research, theres always ways to cut corners!

When booking accommodation, always ask if they have something cheaper. It's amazing how many times I have asked and got a better deal.

Make sure you know if it's off or peak season. If it's off, use it as a bargaining tool
