Looking into visas would be the first step. Depends on what kind of visa you might be eligible for. See but be aware that the immigration system of the UK is currently undergoing some major changes, so keep up to date!

if your boyfriend is english hes gonna need to help you a lot
There are strict criteria now on entry to uk for none EU nationals (many applications turned down)
If either of you arent it will be tricky i suggest, the laws have been tightened due to a previous regime and also high illegal immigrant and asylum seekers.
I know a girl who recently had to marry a south african guy for him to be allowed to live here.
Good luck

Visa is definitely essential info to be clear about... another HUGE help for moving over is to set up a bank account with a bank in the UK in preparation for your arrival.

It is quite difficult to open a new bank account in UK until you have an address (and can prove it) and can be a total pain (especially if you take some time to find a place to live and do not have mail going to a permanent address).

Banks like HSBC and Lloyds TSB can assist you to open an account prior to your arrival - making life a lot easier when you get there and start working.
