New to travellerspoint but it seems like a wonderful invention. My friend and I are planning to bike across Europe next summer and this seems like a great place to bounce ideas off people who've done things like this before. I figure if we start planning now, it should all go off without a hitch, or at least with fewer hitches than usual. Our journey will begin in Lisbon, and we want to stop in several places including Valencia, Barcelona, French cities, Geneva, Rome, and eventually take the ferry from Italy to Greece and just party it up in Athens for awhile. This is for the experience, because that will never die.
Great to have you here Rich! Good luck with your planning. I hope to see you around the forums
Hi Rich and welcome to TP.
Your trip sound amazing, let us know how you get on!
All the best,
Hey TP. This is the guy Rich is going with on this epic cycling trek through southern Europe.
If anyone has any insight on or experience with this kind of an adventure we'd love to hear your suggestions, favorite places, choice cities, best bike routes, etc. Anything you have to add.
I guess, to start some discussion, does anyone have a good approximation of how long a journey like this might take? We're hoping to fit it into a summer (1.5-2 months). It's a long ways...
Also, how transportable and useful is a fold-up tent for bikers on the road?
welcome to tp.....see you around!!
