Here is our project: spend 4 days and 3 nights in London, Berlin or Stockholm. We've chosen these 3 cities because the flights are less expensive (200€ go&return - lowcost), but the choice is now harder..
We are 3, we are eighteen years old, we speak french, english and portuguese fluently, and we can speak some spanish and german. The departure will be from Lisbon in August.
In order to spend less money, we'll camp near (or in) the city. =)
Which one would you choose ? Thanks so much for your help
Berlin is one of my favourite cities - i thought it was awesome, so I would have to say Berlin would be my choice. It's a vibrant city with loads to see and do. admittedly i have not been to stockholm but if i had I cannot see it being as good as berlin! i have been to london and of course there is loads to see and do there too, but I would still go with berlin. not sure about camping options near the city though.
I like both Berlin and London, but both are megacities. Stockholm is much smaller, has better camping facilities nearby, and the Swedes tend to be younger and friendlier. Swedish food is also excellent. The other cities don't offer the sauna either.
in the full Summer Stockholm, it maigth be really exotic for you spetially the "viking" Boys. I dont really like Berlin and London is cool but i think a little to big. a fiend of my was there as she was a little younger then you guys and because her friends was looking for adventures they finished the tripp crying and as enemies.
the same in Portugues (its much better then my english) please nobody get offendet
Do londres ja o tenho escrito no ingleis.
If money is an issue (when is it not) you better hit Berlin.
London is mega-expensive and Stockholm is not much better. Berlin has ceased to be the bargain it once was, but is still on the cheap side for such a big city. Plus the city is currently very hip and you could easily spent weeks there exploring everything that is there to see.
As for sleeping in Berlin with a tent, check out http://www.tentstation.de/
If money would not be an issue, I would choose London, first, Berlin second, and Stockholm last. As you plan on camping, you would really need to figure out, were you can put up your tent, and how much it would cost (also in time) to get to and from the city. (also if you are bringing a tent, and use a budgetairlines, please take a good look at the maximum weights that you can take on the plane)
Personally I would go for Stockholm....it is a really beautiful city, and you can easily wander around it. Plus because it is made up of lots of islands there are opportunities to find a peaceful 'beach' and chilll out for a day as well. I think camping might be slightly easier around Stockholm as well......as far as i know there aren't any camp sites in the London area, but I might be wrong. Also the public transport, espectially tubes in London in August are not too pleasant, lots of people crammed into airless spaces can have an impact on a trip! Hope this helps......
I just spent 3 nights in Berlin and I loved it. I live in London so obviously I also love it here...have never been to Stockholm but have heard it is expensive. London is also pretty expensive so I guess my vote would be Berlin. There is tonnes to do, great night life and it is very reasonable. Plus it is cheap and easy to get aorund, much cheaper for transport then London, which is important if oyu are going to camping outside the city.
I cannot help you much with camping I am afraid...I have never heard of anywhere close to London but have never looked so I am not saying one does not exist. And I stayed in a hotel in Berlin. To save money would you consider a hostel, if camping is not an option?
Good luck choosing, I think you will have a good time in any of those three!
