Thank you for finding my request....

Going to India, Sri Lanka and Nepal in Sept- Nov and need to start deciding what to take, us girls take ages to decide!!

This is going to be my first travelling experience and I don't want to be carrying stuff that I don't really need!!! Do I take a jumper and waterproof jacket as have heard Nepal pretty cold when we go and don't want to freeze?

Please help this damsel in distress!!!
xx

Hello, Yes it does get chilly at this time of year, but remember everything you need you can buy there and cheaper, I travelled to Thailand for my first time, and bought everything I would possibly need only to find it much cheaper here.. :

yep Nepal can get pretty cold especially in Nov/Dec, but it also depends on where u go...

In Kathmandu/Pokhara u probably just need a light jacket at night, but up in the mountains it will be positively freezing at that time of the year - i was up around 4,000 metres in the monsoon - supposedly the hottest month, and you can find icicles in the toilet bowl at times...

you can easily buy down jackets in Nepal for around 30 USD - literally dozens of trekking shops in Pokhara lakeside or Thamel in Kathmandu, and they work fine enough... id say maybe just carry a light waterproof windbreaker for chilly airports and cold rainy nights, but get/rent the jacket in Nepal if u plan to go up into the mountains.... otherwise i dont think its really necessary... and you really dont want to carry it all the way around India...

As mentioned hilly areas in Nepal u get chilling cold....butter to buy the warm jacket as this is cheaper one in Nepal. In India you get average cold in November ......except some mountain areas.......

thanks:)
