European Bike map

Hey all,

So I'm planning a bike trip next summer across Europe. Does anyone know if there's a good book that has a bikeable map of Europe?

im not too sure about all of europe, but i know you can get detailed books about the netherlands - youll LOVE to bike here, its so bike friendly here.. everyone bikes everywhere and everything is so well signposted you almost dont even NEED a map! belgium is also pretty good for biking...

A bicycle map of Europe obviously doesn't exist, so could you be more specific as to the part of Europe you'd like to visit or the route you'd (roughly) like to follow? If your stuck for ideas, here are three suggestions:

• I have a ready-made itinerary for a bike trip through Belgium and the Netherlands, starting off in Brussels and ending in Amsterdam. It's definitely one of the easiest trips there are, leading through flat terrain, and it only lasts two weeks or so;
  
• I met an Aussie couple a few weeks ago who had just embarked on a bike trip from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Saint Petersburg (Russia). Seems like a wicked trip to me;
  
• The Danube Cycle Way is one of the famous routes to cycle. The route starts at the source of the river Danube northeast of Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany) and ends near Tulcea (Romania) at the mouth of the river. The part between Donaueschingen and Vienna is the most popular.

Has anyone ever heard of a successful summer bike trek by way of the Rhine? Or is that unheard of?

How about a Mediterranean coastal bike trip? Say, from Lisbon to Rome?

Well if you get any good tip please let me know! I'm planning Kiel- Italy when summer 09 arrives and i have no idea of wich route to take...

Good idea for anyone planning a long bike trip in europe is to look at EuroVelo.
12 Long distance bike tracks all over europe all together 60.000km long, 2/3 completed so far
traveled from berlin to st. petersburg, great trip, just to recomend (especially the baltic states)
