Travel Forums Europe Good hotels in Barcelona?

I'm going to Barcelona this july. And i need some one to recommend me some hotels. I would like a hotel that is near the city centre , but not too expensive. Or near some shops where we can buy food.

Which star rating should i be looking for? I was thinking 3* .

I'd like there to be a family room , but its not important.

Thanks

i stayed at the Hotel Oriente which was right on Las Ramblas so could not get much more central! It was a fantastic hotel, really clean and comfortable. I had a room with a double bed but it had an adjoining door (which was locked) to another room with two single beds so would be perfect for a family. It was also incredibly reasonable, it cost me and my friend about £80 each for three nights - about £55 a night. I really cannot fault it as a hotel - the maids even daily arranged our pyjamas to look like people on the bed which was so cute!

In terms of being near shops, there are lots of places open 24 hours all around this hotel and there is also a fantastic market off las ramblas which does everything you could possibly want.

I found this -snip really useful - there is a section on where to stay as well which should help with your query...although I would say go with Hotel Oriente!

I never stayd in Barcelona, but you could read reviews from people at Hotelscombined or Kayak. They combine the hotels from all sites. If you want to compare cheaper hotels or hostels you can try out my site: -snip- It is the same as the other to, only focust on travellers on a budget.
