My husband and I are getting divorced after 11yrs I am going back to Florida with my two kids. Don't have alot of time to save money for the trip. Greyhound is cheaper than flying or the train. I will be traveling from Dubuque, IA. to Jacksonville, Fl. It is a two day trip. Are there usually restaurants in the area to wait until the next bus comes during transfers? Should my kids and I be ok?

As far as food goes you should be fine. Routes usually have a break at somewhere with a fast food restaurant around the halfway point (a route being Chicago to Omaha or such.) Big stations will have food, but smaller ones won't. I would assume all of your transfers would be at "bigger" stations. You could also bring a smaller cooler or such with if you're worried about your kids or if you would prefer to have more healthy alternatives. Might also make the suggestion that if you pay the up charge ($5 each) you will get to board first (you can do this at the station.) This might be helpful since their are three of you together. However, the driver will probably ask people to move if it's a problem. Might depend on how old your children are. Hope this is a little bit of help

Thankyou. My children are 6 and 10 and never traveled on a bus before but has been on a long car trip driving up here.
