desert trip morocco .any info!

Hi all
i stil have just coupl weeks to leav the U.S my intila travel is to strat from london take a cruiser to spain stay in spain for a week then hite morocco from the north . i guess that's similiar don't you guys do that ?? i had a chat with a friend of mine in spain whom were to the north of morocco . they weren't the south .so that's my reason to writ here asking for help and information . googling didn't bring anything helpful . as i said i'll hit morocco from the north tanger-fes-marakech and (stop) here i want to start a desert trip to the dunes and i have no idea how/what to do to realise that .
anybody know something ??

Its really not that hard but I think you need a good guidebook (I assume you don't have one since you try to find information on google). The lonely planet guidebook of Marocco is recommendable. You can take ferries from Spain to Tanger at Tarifa, Algeciras and Gibraltar (about 26 euro one way per person if i remember well). From Tanger just simply take a bus to your destination. But...and now it comes. The only worthwhile piece of desert in Marocco I know is at Erg Chebbi (check on google). This is quite far from the cities you mentioned, its near the Algerian border at the east side of Marocco near the towns of Rissani, Merzouga and Taouz. A bus from Fez to Merzouga takes 13 hours (its not that bad). In Erg Chebbi you will find loads of guides offering help. But you better compare prices first. Good luck!!! Do buses run on a dailey basis to Erg Chebbi from Marrakech? .... ive decided to see Erg Chebbi as it gets good reviews, i will visit there from Marrakech... buses of a similar time than those from Fes? ... price range?

Also is there heaps of accomodation in the Merzouga/Taouz area? plus are they crazy exspensive due to there close location to the desert?

the desert can be reached by coach;Buses; Grand taxis. We drove a hired Mini-van ; we made in a short time even we missed places such as Todra gorge.
I have checked out and the bus would probably cost you 12€ (overnight bus). if you fancy the during day travels then the CTM buses would work out as well. Supratours also does run daily buses But no one connect Marrakesh and the desert; The grand taxis are faster but you'll need to break the trip at many stop over. keep in mind that grand taxis are shared and it fit 7 person 3 in front and 4 on the back seat.

Taouz is no good destination; Taous as the reviews reported it's kind of military village (500m²). the spectacular dunes are located at the foot of Hassi labied village.
