Hi!

I'm having problems trying to book a train from Stockholm to Oslo for Aug 19th using the sj.se website. I'm trying to pay using credit card but it is giving me an "invalid phone number" error. Am I not able to book it from the US? Do I need a Swedish phone number or something? Also, it costs 91 sek... seems really cheap? Will it get more expensive the longer I wait?

Thanks! :)

Heya Cynthie!

It sounded odd the ticket being so cheap, so I checked it out. You were right though, 99 kr. for a ticket to oslo, so that's no error. It could be that you're booking so far in advance (just as you said) so I'd recommend booking it ASAP. Now, about that phone number error. The only plausible explanation I can think of is if you typed the wrong number in some way, could be all from typing +46 as opposed to 0046, though it seems odd. Try it again is my advice, and should it still not work, call them. (= Their number is (+46) 771-75 75 75. I'm not sure what times they're open so it might imply you have to call in the middle in the night (presuming you're in the states ;P ).

Try that and let me know how it went! =D

U dont need a Swedish phone number, i had booked the same ticket some time back from India. I also got the same rate 91 SEK and a window seat with table:)

Just put the country code along with the city code in the first block and ur phone number in the second block, dont add any plus sign, just do this and u will be through with ur booking in a flash:)

All the best and do let me know if u faced any problem

Thanks for your replies! I am still having the same problem though and I have tried every which way to enter the phone number.

I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe I will just use the number for the hostel I'm staying at instead?

Dont worry Cynthie, u will get the 91 SEK fare:)

Just one more tip, the first block in the telephone field accept only 4 numerals

Well, a US phone number is 11 digits: 1(3 digit area code) - followed by a 7 digit number. The Swedish numbers seem to be 12 digits: 0046 followed by an 8 digit number, which is probably why it wouldn't work. So I just put in the hostel's number I will be staying at and it worked just fine. :)

Thanks again for your help. I can't wait for my trip!!
