Could someone please let me know if this looks ok for a 2 week itinerary...thanks!
8/30 - arrive late
8/31-9/1 - Tokyo (Nara via overnight bus)
9/2-9/3 - Nara
9/4-9/6 - Kyoto
9/7-9/9 - Kanazawa (JRP starting on the 6th)
9/10 - Hirohima
9/11 - Himeji on route to Tokyo
Are 3 days in Kanawaza and 2 days in Nara too many? I've also heard Koya-san could be work a visit...anyone been there?
Any input about anything would be great and much appreciated!
I would give yourself a bit longer in Kyoto as there's quite a bit to see and do. Hiroshima is interesting for a day and the peace museum is excellent. I didn't go to the other places you mentioned but seeing as you are travelling quite some distance from Tokyo I would recommend getting a Japan rail pass as it works out much cheaper than doing separate journeys. you can also use this to get around on the train network within Tokyo. This pass needs to be bought before you arrive in Japan and validated once you get there, before you start your first journey.
I was just looking at flights to Japan for the similar dates as you , leaving the uk on aug 30th and coming back 2 weeks later, where u going from and who you going with???
