... the toilet bowl. Schnookems had just jumped up onto the seat to get a drink of water and the next thing he knew... Splash! Into the bowl he went, knocking the lid closed over himself with his back legs as he scrambled to avoid the fall. Being a teacup-sized chihuahua, he was going to have to tread water until someone came in to rescue him. Sadly, that moment arrived in the middle of the night. Schnookems' owner, in a sleepy fog, stumbled in, raised the lid, did his business and promptly flushed. The sound of the swishing water as the bowl emptied drowned out poor little Schnookems' weak wimperings. It was the last time....
