Hi, as a new member and not being all that computer savvy, could somebody help me out here please? How do you "quote" someone, do italics, write in bold and stuff like that? I tried clicking on the 'I' up the top but no salada - nothing happened. Oh, and if you edit, is there a way of not having "Edited by Whistler2 at such and sucha time showing up?
Ok, so I found out how to "quote" but the others are still beyond me.
Hi Whistler. For italics, click the "I" button above, then type the text you want italicised, then click the "I" button again. The text will not appear italicised as you type but when you post, it will . . .
Same for bold, underlining etc.
I don't think that there's anyway to hide editions though . . .
Thanks mikeyBoab, much appreciated.
The "editd by..." will always appear at the botttom of an edited post. Also, you only have one hour to make any changes to your post. After that - it's set in stone. Only Administrators (aka Overlords) and Moderators (aka Janitors) can edit 24/7. (Janitors can only edit in the forums where they are assigned. We also have to scrub the forum floors but don't do windows.)

Hahaha. How do you post in links and youtube please? I tried in an earlier post but it didn't work (sigh). I clicked on the "Url" listed but couldn't insert. Thanks.
URLs are easy. Copy the youtube URL you want inserted into a thread. In your post, type the words you want the URL linked to - such as Lucinda Williams. Highlight your words, click Url and a small box opens up - copy the youtube URL into that box and click OK. That's it - your words should look like those below and be linked to the video.
Some day I'll learn to type too.

Well that one didn't work. How do I highlight the word(s)? I wanted to highlight "Hallelujah"

^ Click the URL tab, paste your link in, and at the end of the ] write your text and click the /URL tab to close tag.
So your link looks like this: Hallelujah
