Travel Forums Asia Is Sapa too touristic now?

We are thinking about going to Sapa but not sure if it's too touristic now? Are they any other similar places to go to which are more untouched?

Also can anyone recommend any good companies that book trips there?

Thanks :-)

I'm not sure on what the tourist situation is in Sapa. But if by going there you're after green terraced hills and a traditional village atmosphere - you should also consider going to Nepal - such hills are everywhere there, with the bonus of massive snowcapped peaks as a backdrop.

Haven't been to Bhutan but from what I've read that would be a similar thing - the same might apply to northern India and southern China.

Is it touristy, yes it is, but then again how many places in the area are not? perhaps you'd like Burma? Is it still worth seeing? YES most certainly!
