As always it depends on the interests, and possible daytrips. For the city itself, I would say 4 days. Sights are spread out of the entire city, so you need time to get from one sight to another, which takes more time than in other cities.

Like most welcome cards/tourist/city cards: they are a rip-off unless you were already planning to go to almost all the sights they are offering a discount for. You can get tickets for the U-Bahn (Metro), for 24-48-72 hours, and also daytickets (not to be mistaken for 24 hour tickets.)

I spent 4 days in Berlin, absolutely loved it and wished I could have stayed longer. There is loads to see and do; in 4 days you could cover the major sights but I would recommend staying for a day or 2 more if you can then you can do more without having to rush.

i just returned from Berlin, was there for 8 days, one of them I was out ( in Potsdam).
It was nice, i feel i "have seen everything".
Berlin is interesting, u can spend there even more,
but i think briefly it possible to do in 3-4 days.
