Hello, I Need Information.
We will be in Florida at 15/10 - 24/10 and then in the Southern Caribbeans from 24/10 - 31/10.
Can anyone tell me what is the forcast for storms (mostly huricans) in these dates? Can you tell me when does the huricans perioad ends?
I want to be prepared, and if we have to - change plans.
Hurricane season is from June 1 to Nov 30. http://www.aroundcentralflorida.com/weather/hurricanes/
It's pretty hard to predict what the hurricane forecast will be in mid to late October right now. You probably won't have an idea until the week before if there is a potential for a hurricane to come ashore in Florida or the Carribean, and even then the forecast is really vague until a few days before hand.
Keep an eye on the www.weather.com for forecasts for the region, or the locations you are going to local newspaper website.
On a somewhat related topic, I get to leave work early today because of hurricane Ivan.
So good night, I will talk to you all tomorrow!
Greg, signing off from Atlanta.
There's no way to tell what hurricanes might be around the corner a month away, but the season ends in November. The Tampa area is always pretty lucky when it comes to hurricanes though, we seem to always get out of getting hit. Some really cool things to do in Florida? The list is a mile long. If you are into sports, oneof the biggest games in the country is happening in Gainesville when the defending National Champions (LSU) come the get beat by the Florida Gators! That game is October 10th. Disney is always a good tourist stop, although I suggest Islands of Adventure right next door, better rollercoasters and more of them. If you are in Miami, you must go to South Beach. All in all though, October in Florida is one of the nicest months to go. The weather is beautiful and football is hot on everyone's lips.
Hurricane season ends 1 November, but we usually see very little storm activity after the end of September. You should be fine.
