There’s a boy in London and a girl in Berlin who would like to meet up for a weekend somewhere else in Europe. Problem is, both have travelled extensively around the continent and have been to the major cities, so I simply don’t know what place to suggest. Can anyone recommend somewhere that is not too expensive and possibly also has some interesting sights and decent culture life? All input would be much appreciated .
Krumlov in Czech republic is very romantic, a few years we stayed in a small b n'b style place which was a mini tower straight out of a fairy tale, the town is really nice to walk around and if you're into hiking there's mountains close by...
Oh, now I want to sing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song!!!!
And I have to say Paris, no matter how cheesy or typical it is. Paris just has that certain romantic sumtin' sumptin'.
Carcassonne in France is amazingly romantic and beautiful.
Or if you want to change, you can go to Andalucia. I'm sure you should have your romantic time in Granada. There are many different places. And you wouldn't have the bad weather we have in France..
Thanks a million for all your suggestions. I'll pass them on and discuss !
Santiago De Compostella, Spain.
Santiago romantic? mm....I don't know.
As a southern I tend to identify romantic with indoors-comfortable-warm by a bonfire and a snowed forest outside...
Copenhagen? Bergen? Stockholm?
Cavtat in Croatia, and it's close to the airport - 10 minutes drive. There's a little bar by the rocks on the headland(you can't miss it) it's got trees hanging over it, the transparent blue sea in front of you, mellow music in your ears as you watch the sun set/rise(insert as appropriate). If you can't get romantic here, then there's nowhere.
