Hi Nicky
I paid just under £120 for 10mth worldwide cover (but dont think it covers snowboarding) I usually book with Columbus, there several ways to get extra discounts, Yha, most bureaus have online link, dk books.. If you have no luck with them try worldnomads as they also very popular.
Hope it helps, enjoy New Zealand, Im out there from mid Oct to Feb.
If you haven't gone on your trip already, I'd definitely try 1Cover travel insurance
They offer cheap annual travel insurance - worth looking into at least
I went with World Nomads for my year in NZ. I had a few mishaps
while I was on the road. They paid out in full for health related costs, but when it came to my camera, MP3 player etc, I received a pretty paltry sum for those (even though I had taken out extra cover on my electronic items). Word to the wise: you need original receipts for items you need to claim for.
Insurance companies are all cowboys anyway
Just a personal opinion....
