There is a lot to tell about Amsterdam! Give more details so we know what suggestions to give you.

Where to start? How long are you staying? Is it just Amsterdam or Holland in general? Are you looking for the culture? Museums? Night Life?

To start with, transporation. Bikes are great if you don't have much time, actually bikes are great all the time, and easy enough to come by. Then if you are looking for things to see and do, there are the boat tours, if you want a general overview. The Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank house, the sex museum, Red Light Distric (Obviously hit this at night), and I recall Rembrandts but can't place them (sorry). Night life in Amsterdam..where to start? There is leidsplein, and rembrandt plein both squares with decent pubs/bars around and enough going on that you won't get bored. As for Dutch culture, if you want a more traditional view, I suggest Utrecht or Den Haag (both large cities, but with a little less of a touristy feel).

If you have a little more info about your trip and what you are looking for obviously there are more options.

Let me know,
Oh yeah, and when are you going?

Yes, rent a bike is the best idea if you want to see all the city.
And you should go to the parks in the south (vondel, rembrandt).

Rembrandtpark is not in the south Norian, it's in the west. Should you decide to go there, leave before dusk. Unlike Vondelpark, it is not overly safe there at night.

We need more information from the original poster: budget, duration of trip, company, preferences, etc. Don't expect to get too many useful replies on a question this vague.

Rembrandt Park is really dangerous by night ?

I've been here one time and we only saw some fellows who were smoking.
(but as u live here, you know it better than me)

For me there's a difference between 'not safe' and 'dangerous'. But Rembrandtpark is not a place I would recommend that tourists go after dark. While the situation is much better now than it used to be a few years back, the park has a long history of muggings and sexual assault, especially the part further to the north.
