I'm over 30 so don't qualify for a WHV but have decided to bite the bullet and head out to Melbourne on a vistor's visa in October.
I have 8 years marketing experience and I hear these skills are sought after and so keen to continue my career in this area if possible.
Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to secure sponsorship with companies? I'm worried about only going out on 3 mth visa and running out of time.
Any advice or stories of similar experiences would be very welcome. I so want to make this move but getting a bit nervous......
Im kinda in the same situation - Im in Australia on my WHV until Jan09 and just turned 31 last month so I also have no option but to look for sponsorship.
Ive been dealing with a company called Lester Associates (http://www.lester.com.au) based in OZ that specialize in consulting / organizing sponsorship for overseas skilled workers. My mate is in the same situation but they just helped him sort out sponsorship - Id send them an email or contact them if you can cause they will explain the process
Hope this helps,
Hi sammyd, here is Department of Immigration. If you click on Visas and Immigration in the top left hand corner, the click on Employers (who sponsor skilled people to work in Australia), there is a lot of helpful information. I'm from Melbourne it's a great city and I hope you have a great time here. And good luck.
