Vegas Parking

Travel Forums North America Vegas Parking

Hi all,

Can anyone offer advice on parking in Vegas?
Is it easier to park somewhere on the outskirts and then shuttle/taxi in rather than paying the high cost of Vegas parking?
Vegas Mike you out there?

Thanks
James

Most of the casinos allow you to park for free, except for the valet parking at the front, or when they have a special event.

Remember that the casinos want you to go to their places--so charging for parking would defeat that intent.

But I hope VegasMike can add his comments--because it's been a year or two since I've been there, and things keep changing.

Gary has nailed it again. All the hotels offer free parking, usually highrise garages. Valet parking is also free. I have seen people get their car from the valet guy or gal and say: "Sorry, I lost all my money on the tables". Not a thing they can do. The usual tip was $1, now everybody gives them $2. More if you have a special car or want it left up front. This is what Andre Agassi and rich guys do. I use valet most of the time. You don't have to walk very far and it is very convenient. For $2 a visit, it is a no brainer when it is 110 outside, like NOW! That is 43 for you fans of the "C" scale. We just had 26 days in row over 100, that is seriously hot weather. Come to Vegas Sept-Dec. Much better weather and not so many families running around.

Send me a PM if you have questions on Vegas.

Calcruzer, Vegasmike, you guys are both legends, thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Im staying at at hotel/casino on the vegas strip, cant remember which one at the moment, would they allow me to park there for the duration of my stay for free (4days) or would it be best to keep moving it to each casino as i go down the strip?

No, you can leave it there as long as you want. Then either hop a bus, walk, or take a taxi to get to wherever you want to go. (P.S. If you are going to places off the strip, like the Palms or the Rio--you'll need to take a taxi, because it's too far to walk to those places, and the buses don't go there--the buses only go up and down the strip).

Enjoy

(and don't forget to park in a shady spot--and crack the windows--because otherwise after four days in the 110 degree weather, the interior of your car will be melted--or about to melt). Have a great trip.

Gary, I am guessing you are like most of us past 50. You are having trouble getting a good night's sleep. I have so many injuries that something is always hurting. Was no problem in Pattaya. I could buy xanax over the counter for a few baht. That stuff works. Of course it is a perscription drug here and I won't pay to see the Dr. or the price for xanax. I have tried Tylenol PM but works only so so. Now, get some sleep Gary.

Ay Up Mike, not still got the dodgy back, I will send you a few bottles of Newcastle Brown, you will sleep all night, not sure about the head though when you do wake up, take care

Not sure which one of you guys' advice to take--xanax or Newcastle Ale?

Don't think I can go wrong--just as long as I don't try taking them both at the same time!

Allan,
Yes, I am afraid my dodgy back competes with my dodgy knee, bad shoulder and sore foot for attention. This getting old thing is not all it is cracked up to be. Send a PM when you have time.
