Does anyone know of the cheapest way to get to South America from New Zealand? This wouldn't necessarily have to be a direct flight, could go via USA and work my way down by train or something.

Cheers

The cheapest might be to fly with Jetstar Airways from Sydney to Honolulu and try to get a cheap-ish flight to LA from there. It involves at least 3 flights (Auckland - Sydney - Honolulu - LA) so I don't know if it works out to be cheaper compared to flying directly with Aerolinas Argentinas to BA for example, especially when you add all the overland travel and nights in hostels/hotels you have to pay when travelling from the USA southwards.
By the way, travelling by train is very limited in Latin America, buses are the way to go.

I booked sydney - hawaii last week. It will 600 dollars. Im goin to book another flight from Hawaii to Cancun which will cost 500

If you want a more direct route try aerolineas

Jetstar from Sydney to Honolulu and then Hawaiian airlines from there to Cancun for $550...If you wana just fly to LA its a bit cheaper again. (around $400)

Its a good price considering the next cheapest is $2000 with virgin..

Also Flight Centre are offering a trip to Vancouver with a "free" stopover in Hawaii...how nice of them
