...Ah, it's so nice when the trips from one port to another are short and sweet. A long cruise now and again is fun, but short hops help keep the rum supplies stocked. As the ship slowly traverses the coast of Ireland, it finally makes a gentle right turn, or was it a left... Hmmm... Could be a problem if we're not meandering up the River Liffey... "Aye Captain, I think we're headed in the right direction! I think I see Temple Bar ahead!!" "I think you're right, Matey, and isn't that Doyle's over there?" "No Captain, that's Foley's" "What do you mean it's Foley's, we're suppose to be meeting at Doyle's! Why do all these Dublinishy pubs all look alike? And why can't they be called things like Mike's or Pat's or Seamus'..." As the crew continues to quibble about which pub is holding the celebration, the ship pulls into it's parking place, but not before ramming the back end of the cruise ship. In shattered pieces, the pirate ship's maidenhead crashes onto the cruise ship's shuffleboard deck and then into the pool. "Nice park job there, Sparky? Where'd you get your boat driving license? Do we need to put a very big "L" sticker on the back of this tub???"

As the crew's laughter subsides, they (as usual) break into song:

About a maid Ill sing a song,
Sing rickety-tickety-tin,
About a maid Ill sing a song
Who didnt have her family long.
Not only did she do them wrong,
She did everyone of them in, them in,
She did everyone of them in...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's hoping you have a wonderful birthday (July 17th - see, I got it right this year ) filled with friends, exciting journeys, talkative trees, garden gnomes bearing gifties, farting in everyone's general direction, 2 game wardens, and a masochistic tango or two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...Horribly confused, half the crew heads over to Doyle's while the remainder heads toward Foley's. If only someone had a cell phone, or even a compass that showed true north, life would be good. Alas, it's only the rum and pub grub that anyone cares about. And, as Captain Isa wanders around aimlessly looking for Philly's party, a strange little man trades her a song for a cigarette. The sweet sounds of "Bush Is a Bastard" are heard throughout the cobblestone canyons of Dublin...

Heeheehee!!!
There is a little back story to that song - which was really sung to us in Dublin by a homeless man. Nikki, Phil, Rich and Chris (Rich's friend) stayed in the bar while Jase, Kris and I went outside to have a cigarette. The homeless guy came over, with his guitar, said he'd trade a song for a smoke and we agreed. Cheap ol' Jase went back inside before having to sacrifice any of his precious cigs and missed out on "Bush Is A Bastard". It was a really good song too! The man's friend also came over and accompanied him on the harmonica. Ah, Dublin!

Hahahahaha, that's a good one and quite memorable too!

You guys should start a TP-get-together moments thread or something.

Being a new member I don't know Pardus, but many happy returns of the day and may you enjoy it to the fullest.
Birthday Joke:

And God said, "Let there be Light."

And the candles on your birthday cake were lit!!

Isadora, the young priest at our parish used to sing that song (I was a teenager at the time) he played a mean guitar too. I've found the lyrics to it on the net, but Father D. I remember singing:
"With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the bloody tower
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the midnight hour

Then something about
"King Henry he had nothing to do
Sing rickety-tickety tin
And there was I think mention of Anne Boleyn, it was she who walked with her head under her arm you see.

Know where I can get a copy of this?
