I am planning on going to Thailand next year and wanted to travel through the major cities by bicycle.

1)Are there places available to rent bikes in most cities?
2)How much are they to rent?
3)Are bike locks provided or should I bring my own?
4) Lastly, are there places to "park" and lock your bike on most streets while shopping/site seeing etc.?

Thanks to anyone who has info:)

Major cities?

Do you include Bkk? I have never found bike rental shop in Bkk before. I found only in some park and they allow you ride in only the park. What's more, Bkk is a big city and has a lot of air pollution, I suggest you travel by another vehicle.

In Ayuthaya province, the ancient capital city of Thailand, there are many bike rent shop. I went there around last year, the rental price was 30 bath per day. The owner shop will give you a lock and the key. For parking, every temples in Ayuthaya has a place for bike parking.

I heard that Sukhothai province also has a name in bike ridding travel. But I have never been there before.

Hmmm... in Chaing-mai and Phuket, I have seen some foreigner travellers ride a bike for travelling but I don't know where they rented them. Anyway, the geographic of these provinces are slope and mountains. So, many travellers rent motorbike for instead of bike.

Oh! Kho-Kred (Kred island) where is in Nonthaburi province. This place is nearby Bkk and we can travel in this island by bike and of course, there are the rental shop. I don't know the price but I'm pretty sure that it is not expensive. This place you can travel in 1 day.
