I am trying to think of ways to get across the Atlantic as cheap as possible. My final destination will be Germany. I have been looking into flights, cruises, even cargo freighters. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get to Europe while spending as little money as possible?
LTU Airlines is a good bet for Germany - I believe they just merged with Air Berlin.
try to google them
Flying is the cheapest option. From the US and Canada it can make sense to fly into London and then to catch a cheap flight to Berlin or Munich from London. Watch the season, flights across the Atlantic are cheapest Oct-early Dec and late Jan-early April. Look for roundtrip as well as one-way even if you only need one-way, sometimes one-way works out more expensive than roundtrip.
Website of LTU is www.ltu.com, a cheap carrier to London is zoom (www.fly-zoom.com)
Swim or Stowaway..good starting points.
Seriously search the net for courier flights, i took one from the UK to Aus once and got a half price ticket... All you do is pick up a package and drop it off, then same on way back.....
