India to China question

Hi

My OH and I are travelling around Asia from December this year. We are starting in India, travelling all around on train etc but then had planned to fly from Chennai to HK then travelling down china to Hannoi or Laos. However we've heard HK is really expensive and so we don't really see the point in flying over there to stay for just a couple of days.

I would still love to see some of China so really I'm looking for advice on where in china we could fly to and journey down to laos or vietnam easily. We don't want to do a route that costs loads but we want to see some of China's culture etc.

My Suggestion is :

If u just want get a way to Laos and Vietnam from one city of China , u can fly to YunNan Province, KunMing is near Vietnam, take bus can arrive there.

Or : After India to Nepal late Tibet (China); and then can from KunMing to Vietnam and Laos, this route is the best...

China have so much place nice: HaiNanIsland, ZhongDian, LuGuLake, LiJiangOldTown, DaLiOldTown, SiChuang,...

I dont know why u need fly to HK?
And yes, HK is really very very very expensive for all...

in the reverse,i want to travel to India from China. But as i know , when flying from China to India ,strating from Beijing is cheaper than from Guangzhou or HK.
I don't know if there are a line from India to Yunnan. But you could fly to Guangzhou that's near to HK.And it will take 24 hours from Guangzhou to Yunnan by train.
