I am visiting Shanghai in September and am looking for some side trips I can do from there. I already have a few places in mind, but was wondering if Nanjing is worth visiting, and if so would it make sense to go just for a day or 2? How long does it take to get there from Shanghai by train/bus?

my friend lived there for a year and taught english. he has millions of drinking stories from that place. if you're looking for having fun, then it may be worth a try! otherwise, i have no idea..haha. that's my two cents. have fun! |

Might as well go to ZHEJIANG PROVINCE to visit HANGZHOU and the famous lake. or suzhou, which is closer to Shanghai. |

Nanjing is a historical city in China, if you are interested in chinese history and culture, I recommade Nanjing, if you go there by express train from Shanghai, it takes you about 2 and a quarter, what do you do in China, you are a teacher? I am always on biz trip, if you have enough in China, I have many recommadations.

Definitely, I think Nanjing is a great city in China. It is a city with a lot of stories if you like history. |
