Travel Forums North America Do you live in NYC?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering which TP members out there are actually living in New York and would be interested in meeting up? I moved here last February and I'm living in mid-town.

Hey Ev,

Not quite what you were after as I don't live there but it looks like I might be in NY around the middle of September. Should find out for sure today... Needless to say, if you are still there then, it'd be great to meet up!

Hey Sam,

That's great! I'd love to finally meet up. :)

I'm leaving NYC to go to Canada at the end of September, but otherwise I'm around all of that month.

I'll send you my cell number and you can let me know what your plans are closer to the time. ;-)

Not going to Canada; maybe you are referring to my 2005 trip? I couldn't really answer the question for sure either way, but I'd think Amtrak. Can you get schedules off their sites?

Ev, booking my ticket today and will PM you. Arriving evening of Saturday the 13th so we could either meet up then or Sunday. Monday through Wed I'm going to be stuck in meetings (boring!).... will PM you details as soon as I get the flight confirmed back.

Sam - I think zipztar meant the "other" Sam as in samsara2. Ev mentioned going to Canada in post #3. ;)

Depends on where on the East Coast of the USA to where in Canada. Generally, Greyhound is cheaper and provides a lot more options on times and places to depart from and arrive at. Amtrak doesn't run a lot of trains, mostly from NYC to Montreal and Toronto. I think if you are travelling on a budget you'll find buses the more economical way to go.

Woops!

By the way, did you all hear about the beheading on greyhound last week? Terrible terrible terrible stuff!! It blows my mind that some people can be this sick in the head.

Greg posted about it last week in the "is traveling on Greyhound safe..." thread. As you well know, there are crazy people everywhere, Sam. We can only just hope we don't run into them - ever.
