Well.. we have added the hostels booking feature now.. there are currently close to 3000 hostels/ hotels / lodges and bed and breakfasts in the system - not really a 'hostel booking feature' only, but that title will have to do for now.

This feature is provided by an affiliate site -, who provide this same feature to a host of other sites out there, including travelocity, bootsnall and a ton more. In fact, I haven't found another way to book hostels online. The prices you pay here are exactly the same as any of those sites, because they all go through the same booking engine. We make a small percentage off of any hostels booked through this site and hope to keep features on this site free by recouping some of our costs this way.

If you have any problems, please drop us a note and we will take it up with on your behalf. :)

Hi Peter,

After searching through this site for more info, I'm glad I stumbled on this post. Here's my scoop:

Been planning a trip to Mexico over the Holidays and couldn't make up my mind about the trip/tour (resold here under Mexico Tours). After long convrsations with Sam, I went for it...

2 weeks later the Tour Agency cancels the reservation due to lack of hotel availability in one of the destinations on the tour.

OK, well I didn't exactly plan for this and we decided to cut the trip short, go for a few days here and there at different hostels and get to know the city on our own...

My request/inquiry: How feasible is it to start a new forum for trip planning and booking info? I was very (stress very) unsure of how the system worked and had I known more detail, would have booked the tour many months ago. The one thing that stopped me then was being unsure of the gaurantee and what kind of down payment, was the down payment refundable, etc.

I love helping others and would love to contribute to a "How To" Forum...

If you prefer I add my comments, experience to an existing forum, please let me know which one.

Hi Sarah,

That's terrible about the tour. I have never heard about that happening before and it sounds like a pretty bogus way to cancel a tour. We'll definitely work out something regarding that so I'll drop you a message regarding the details.

Regarding the forum. Although technically it is quite feasible to set up a new one I am not sure how much animo there would be for one. I think quite a few users who end up in the booking area are not looking in the forum for answers regarding their questions. On the other hand, if it isn't there, I guess we will never know and it could be combined with trip planning as a more general topic I guess.

Let me ponder it a few days.... I might be fresher then! :)
