I'm just about the cheapest traveler out there and have stayed at some pretty dodgy places along the way. But even I wouldn't want to stay at a 100 baht hotel in Bangkok. Maybe up your budget just a little and you can find a place that is at least somewhat clean anywhere around Kao San.

The trip from Hat Yai to BKK is about 14 hours. Most buses leave Hat Yai early evening, figure 6:00pm. You should arrive in Hat Yai in plenty of time to eat and buy your ticket. Use the gov't bus system, NOT the tourist bus system. All the travel shops try to put you on either a tourist bus or a minivan. Get yourself over to the public bus station and book your ticket. You have several choices on tickets. Air con, VIP and Super VIP. With your budget, pick the cheapest option. Was about 600bt to BKK,
not sure now.

I don't know of any 100bt rooms. You can get a room under 300bt in the Khao San Road area. The next day chat up other females and try to find one to share a double room. That should bring down your costs. Both Chart GH & Taewez GH have rooms under 300bt. Good Luck.

Marrie you'll struggle to get a room for 100 baht. The New Road Guest House is offering rooms from B130. Check out the offers on TP

Good luck!

Opposite Pudu Raya, take Konsortium Bas Ekspress. Around RM42 to Hatyai. From Hatyai, buy a VIP coach (BKS or Bo Kor Sor) which belongs to Thai Government to Bkk. Fare is around +-800baht. Travelling by bus from KL to Hatyai is around10hours and from Hatyai to Bkk is around 12 hours.

As for accomodation, Khao San Rd is the best choice for your budget. Maybe you can try Sawasdee Sukumwit Inn as well.;)
