1. If you just want to make an exit
2. Penang is only 1000 baht through an agency. Is that a good deal?
3. Laos is 800 baht through an agency and 300 through the bus station.
4. What is the border town in MALAYSIA and is that a tourism destination?
What would be the closest MUST SEE place in Northern Malaysia?
I have been to KL and Borneo, so I dont want to go beyond penang.
LASTLY, is Malaysia more expensive than THAILAND???
like exchange rate of the US dollars?
and KFC and Mcdonalds?
I just might stay for a week.
Northern Malaysia.... I would say Langkawi, Penang and Pangkor Islands. As for bordertown in Malaysia.... nothing much actually....Just Padang Bedar, Bukit Kayu Hitam and Pengkalan Hulu. I suggest you to go to Betong in Yala Province.
For me, Yes, Malaysia is more expensive than Thailand. But Burger King in Thailand is more expensive than the one in Malaysia
KFC in Malaysia....A snack plate might cause you around RM12+-
As fore McD, A Large BigMac set will be around RM12+-
cost of living in thailand and malaysia if relatively almost the same based on USD conversion. but then again there is always some difference in certain goods.
As for now, the currency exchange is around USD 1 = RM 3.25/3.30 more or less..
You might want to try visiting the east coast of malaysia since there is a lot of beautiful islands that you can enjoy staying but it's between March to August though since it's the monsoon season. But then, there is a monsoon cup race once a year in state of Terengganu where you can watch yacth but i guess it will bored you..
by the way, penang has been annouced as one of the world's heritage site bu unesco a few months back....you can try living with the jetty clan..it's something new...but thena again penang is one of the best food heaven around...talking bout foods here, there are plenty to enjoy..in fact most of the hawker food here is a nation favourite like laksa penang, pasembor and char kuew tiao..
if you enjoy scenic view, it's best to go to langkawi...the beaches are better compared to penang...so if you thinking of basking at the beach, choose langkawi...the food here is also great...very fresh seafood(what do you expect in an island then )....
Pangkor is a small island compare to Langkawi and Penang..but if you like to visit here, make sure it's not the jelly fish season or ur just wasting your time coz you can't swim in the sea....for me it's the best place to relax..since you do not have the city aura like Penang....
I like the sound of Penang and Butterworth, sounds very cute.
I have seen images on penang on TV and that great film, RETURN TO PARADISE.
I am planning to go directly to Penang from Bangkok...
I have spent too much time and money in Thailand already. So I dont really feel like exploring the south. Besides I still get to see more islands in Indonesia and Malaysia.
the bus to Penang is only 1000 baht. That is through the agencies.
If i GO to Krabi or Phuket first, is there a bus to Penang from this islands???
and will I save some money on bus fair? I heard Phuket is very Expensive. Penang is said to be backpack friendly though.
How about Krabi and the phi phi islands??? Is it both luxury? Is Samui a better option than KRABI?
My question is BUS or Train??? I always dreamed of train rides from Thailand to Malyasia. But I loving the busues lately, coz it stops and I get to see other places.
