I'm looking for places to stay when I am in Thailand and wondered if anyonehad good / bad experiences staying in places.
First place is Bangkok followed by all the usual travellers route (via Koh Samui, Koh Phanang, Koh Phi Phi, Phucket, KL, Langkawi, Mallaca, Singapore, etc.!
If anyone has stayed anywhere in these places, do you have any feedback?
Hopefully this will hepl a few people
hi kitty..i can advice in some few things:
1- you can travel on gulf air if gonna come from london-bahrain-bangko and it will be cheaper for u.
2-visit Phucket land and pattaya land
and if u need any help just ask
Thailand is generally safe. Hotels are numerous and relatively cheap, whether in Bangkok or the outlying areas. Of course, in the tourist places, places may be a bit higher. The net is a good place to begin checking on pricing. Have a good idea of the price range, and if you want some adventure, start booking only when you hit the streets! Otherwise book online (less choice, more expensive, but definitely comforting to know you have a roof over your head!).
There can be no guarantee on the places you can choose. Experiences differ simply because of the staff, the ownership and the type of accomodation you go to. I have stayed in USD5 a nite backpacker rooms and had no problems. And stayed in USD150 a nite serviced apartment and have nothing to say but complaints! But on the second stay, would love to recommend the place to anyone if that had been my first stay.
ON the whole, Bangkok is a good experience hotel wise. If you like I can recommend you to a THB1800 to THB2100 a nite room with one of the top local hotels. In fact, I feel you should stay at the THB2100 location and get up to the 84th floor for an all round view of BKK. Fyi, this is a special rate only for corporate guests.
If you like a Thai travel agent to look into trip within Thailand, let me know. I know a couple who can converse in English.
And when are you planning to come over?
Btw, I live in Singapore not Thailand..
