People: A very broad theme that everyone should be able to contribute to this month!

As per usual, the winner receives a $50 Amazon voucher as well as an upgraded monthly photo upload limit of 200MB. The runner-up also gets their monthly photo upload limit raised to 200MB.

Get more details about how to nominate your photos here.

Looking forward to seeing all your awesome photos!

Eric

I entered 3--all of poor Neal! They were the only people shots that didn't look staged. I almost entered one of him in the teenie, tiny tub in Marseilles, but decided spared him the humiliation.

Oh my god,
I think this is the hardest competition, gives me a headache
there are hundreds of people photos in my folders I have to choose from only 3

I have lots of people pics but most of them are not even close to being usable. Something about a blow-up sheep, preaching the gospel accord to Purdy or hiding under a table in Montreal just didn't seem to fit the bill. (Guess TP meet-ups aren't the best place to take "people" pictures if you want to be able to use them in a competition - unless it's a drinking one.)

I've submitted my three. Oh, and the one of Beerman does not have him sticking his tongue out - it's the film noir look with a cigarette. Wasn't meant to be "noir", just kinda turned out that way.

Hehe, I guess that's the beauty of a broad theme: it's going to take some pretty nice photos to do well!

By the way, remember that we're doing the nomination process differently this time. You have to tag your pictures "competition" and "people" (not "peoplecompetition"). ;)

That will teach me to skim through the requirements...

Isa wanders off to go change her tags.

So, noticed a few changes, like if you tag a photo and it's not featured, some knowledgable people will have another look. Will they have that look right now, or at the 26th of August?
Otherwise, I start tagging other already featured photos of people of course.
I would certainly suggest looking at the photos now, what's the use and chance otherwise?
Or if not, let people know in time. it's all about communications on TP

I am pretty sure this has always been the case, ie. right before the voting begins Peter will usually go through the page of all photos with the right tags and double check that none of them should really have been featured. When exactly it happens doesn't have any consequence for voting etc, but it should happen once at least at the very end to make a clean cut off.

And changing tags on already featured photos if they are relevant to the theme isn't a problem at all. I think that's already been done numerous times.

As Sam said, this has always happened. The reason it's stated clearly now is that when meeting up with Becky a while ago, I learned that this wasn't obvious, so when I visited the TP offices I alerted Eric to that and he added a line to that effect.

Old non-featured photos might be looked at between now and the close of the competition, but there's only a guarantee that they will be looked at again right before the competition closes. (E.g. (I think) that's the very last action Peter will take before closing the competition.) Still, if you believe that a currently non-featured photo is more deserving of winning the competition than one which is currently featured, I'd go with that feeling rather than trying to play the odds.

hehe, thanks guys and I like that last sentence. it is actually the case, but that's of course my personal opinion about my own photos. Still i have to admit that deserving to win is mostly for the others, it's just me being astonished sometimes by featured or nonfeatured photos. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
