Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has ever hitch hiked from Sydney to GOld Coast. Or sydney to Brisbane?

If not, you reckon it is possible - I'l be attempting it potentially with one mate, were both guys.

Cheers guys

Would take you 11 hours @ 50 mph + the the extra waiting for a lift could be another 10 hours.......

Could fly for $69 with jetstar....?

haha I definitely agree with Andy - wait till there's a domestic airsale on and grab a cheap flight!

A friend of mine hitch hiked from Central Coast to Byron Bay - boy did he have an adventure!

Yeah it's do-able but just be prepared for a few strange ones along the way, being dropped in the middle of no-where in the middle of the night, having to pay some of the petrol costs, going 3 hours on a "quick side trip to visit a mate" etc etc etc.

For the time, effort and money involved I reckon you'd be better off jumping on a plane and have your adventure when you get to brissy or GC.

I'm defintely with you on that one...

although I do recommend hitching in australia as I've done it a few times. I wouldn't worry about hitching between sydney and the gold coast. chances are you'll meet heaps of people in sydney...HEAPS! (had to throw an aussie term in there) Then you can just get a ride with them. It'll be more fun going on a road trip.

I left hitching for when I was stuck in the outback
