Travel Aus has indicated that this thread is about Australia

Hoping someone out there can help me. I'm really keen to do a dolphin swim basically anywhere in Australia but am torn about where to actually do it!

I'll be making may way across Oz (via Melb, Adelaide and finally finishing in WA) so I know there are dolphin swims in each of these areas (or near enough)... so should I do Monkey Mia, Mornington Pennisula, Glenelg???

Would love some feedback if anyone has some!

I hate doing this to any place, Monkey Mia is a no swim area, all you get to do is watch from the beach, an maybe wade into the water to a depth of about your knees to watch them being fed by rangers.

In WA there is a group operating in cockburn sound leaving from Rockingham that does swims with dolphins in the ocean, they provide wets suits etc.

Hey there!

I done the dolphin swin at Glenelg (can't remember the name of the company) and had a really good time. We were out on the boat for about 2-3 hours and swam with dolphins on 3 seperate occassions during this 2-3 hour period.

Basically the boat goes out to look for pods of dolphins and when they find some they head over towards them and then you jump off the back of the boat and before you know it the dolphins are swimming right under you (maybe 2-3metres from you) and besides the boat!

Overall i'd recommend it and theres lots of opportunity for pics when the dolphins swim alongside the boat. I'm sure the company also does refunds if you don't get to see any (again apologies for forgetting the companies name). One of the best things i've done in Oz!!

Hope this helps!

Not sure if many people have thought of doing this, but I was recently up in Brizzy with my son in law Ted and we got up the courage to going swimming with dolphins. At first I was a little worried about getting into the water, but the experience ended up being amazing for both of us.
