Bizarre to say the least.

Still, it'll make it easier to discpline the kids.

that's ridiculous! not the way to tackle the issue of gun crime in america. If I was a parent of children at that school I would be very concerned!

Yeah, read that piece of news earlier. Fighting fire with fire? What a great idea!

What can I say, but that this does not surprise me at all. It is Texas after all Read a quote the other day that speaks to me: "If I owned Texas and Hell, I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas."

I don't know what's scarier--that the board approved it or no parents objected.

Whether they carry a gun or not, teachers are simply not trained to deal with "a lock-down situation" where some machine-gun-weilding psycho bursts into the school. Unfortunately, they'll probably juts make the situation a lot worse.

Students in that school will probably carry guns too, to protect themselves from the teachers.

It's America, the students probably already are carrying guns.

Yea, well, those kids in kindergarten can be a handful....Now, if they see that teacher's got a gun.....

As for the kids in grade eight...They'd probably shoot first, this being Texas and all.....

I don't know where to start!!! What a f**ked up place Texas must be. Why don't they just be done with it and kill all kids first and then there is no way one of them will be able to shoot a teacher. What is it with peoples mentality who think "well if I don't have a gun how am I gunna shoot him?". It is just beyond the realms of common sense to start "tooling up" teachers. So now an angry kid who has troubles at home will come into school, and instead of verbally abusing a teacher, they will have to bring a gun in to shoot the critter otherwise he will be thinking that he will be shot first by the gun toting maths master.
