Hi,

anyone out there can give me some insights into good tour operators for trips to Morocco and Mali? I'm not taking the trips in one round, but am in the planning process for near future.

Anyone who has any info good and bad that could help me plan and avoid problems? Much appreciated.

Also recommendations for cities or places in Morocco would be great. I've got some good ideas, but anyone with specific insight into great Berber villages and cultural experiences would be helpful.

thanks:)

Morocco is really easy to get around with a great bus service. You could easily do the trip independantly. However I do believe that Oasis and Dragoman do overland trips covering Morocco, Mali and Mauritania.
Time permitting, you can take a camel caravan from Morocco to Timbouctou!
I have just returned myself from Zagora in south east Morocco, there are some lovely Berber villages there. Plenty of tour operators in the area will take you around although I can personally reccomend Hassan at Kasbah Tefawlte. A Berber Nomad himself, there is nothing he does not know about the tribes and the area. Not cheap, but definately worth it if you want to get away from the tourist trap and spend time with 'real' people.
If you need any further info just let me know. I shall also be returning in October so can gather more info for you if you like.

For moroccan desert experience and camel treks, check out the www.aubergedusud.com in Merzouga. Quite a place.
