Hi anyone has any good recomendations? Been to BKK many times, work travel, rather tired of the shopping there.
Unless there's other good place beside Platinum and Chatuchak and the usual shopping centres.

I heard that the Grand Palace is worth going and also some of the museums. Anyone been to any of these?

Have you been to the south? Chumphon has some really cheap and beautiful resort hotels, with golf course right near the beach, the beaches there have like NO people, so it's great for relaxation

Nightlife in Bangkok? Nanaplaza, RCA, Ekkemai, Soi 33, Patpong, Ratchada Soi4, Ratchada behind Esplenade, Kao San, Soi Cowboy etc etc (i'm sure you hit a few of those already, but in case you havent)

Nightlife in Pattaya? Walking street!!!

Gone up north to Udon or Khon Kaen? They are nice places to escape to sometimes, to get away from Bangkok.

hmmmm, what else.........

I've never been to Trang yet, but I'd really like to go there :)

I thought this was a joke post at first (it still might be). I cant believe someone who has been to Bangkok many times has only been shopping and seen a few temples! Bangkok is one of the most amazing cities in the world and there is so much to do to keep someone busy for as long as they can handle it! Do yourself a favour, buy a guide book to Bangkok and read about all the things you have been missing for so long and then get out there and actually see this great city!!!!

yeah there is loads to do in Bangkok! The Grand Palace is one of the top sites for a start. as the previous post says, it would pay to have a good read about the city and all the stuff there is to do there. i have been to Bangkok many times too and haven't spend much time, if any, shopping!

I'm sure there is more to do in places like Oslo or Barcelona, but it won't be as cheap.

Bangkok is shopping and temples.... essentially. Unless if we are more honest. There are cheap beers and sex.
If you are a tourist for more than 2 weeks in Bangkok, its definitely not the temples that keep you busy.

what to do? people watching, clubbing, getting pissed, plan your trips to the south and getting laid.

Cheap beer?? In bangkok??? WHERE?? I have never found any. Saying Bangkok is all about shopping, temples beer and sex is like saying Amsterdam is only prostitutes and drugs. It is only these things to people who have never bothered to actually go and find out about the real city. That is the lazy view of a city.

But Bangkok is just like any other city, after seeing it for more than a week. If you stay longer, then aint the cultural stuff that gets in the postcards. Its cheap beers and clubs. Yeah, the beers aint that cheap, but 60 BAHT for a battle of cheers is fair.

Well, I'm here for a night and I ran out of things to do. I could hit the clubs or just stay in the hotel to write my journal.
