My favourites are the kretek cigarettes from Indonesia, they are made with cloves and have sweet filter tips... in Indonesia you can get a carton of the kretek's for the price of one packet here in Australia...

Sempoerna or Gudang Garam?

1 carton of Krongthip in Thailand is around 300Baht

1 Pack of Marlboro here in Malaysia is around RM8.20 = USD2.5++

They should increase that to RM10 now and use the extra revenue to fund whatever quit smoking programme.

Well, here in philly we pay around $4.50/pk of marlboro lights. my husband and i stock up when we hit the duty frees of the world and bring them home. couldn't believe it when i got two cartons in the duty free on the way home from india for only $14/carton. lucky for him, b/c i don't smoke.

I don't remember how much they cost exactly, but in Myanmar I bought a massive bundle of cheroots that were incredibly cheap (I'm thinking like 25 cents for the bundle). These things are actually tobacco, rolled in newspaper and then banana leaf - and taste like you're sucking on a campfire.

Ha! The world seems to be littered with cheap cigarettes, try living here in Ireland, E7.50 a pack. Thankfullly I´ve just come back from Russia and bought them for about 70cents a pack there.... should keep me going until my next trip to China in a couple of months.
