I am just curious about what holiday or festival events people found most fun or interesting on their travels.

Loy Krathong is a little lame....

The Song Kran festival in Thailand (Thai New Year) was really good fun. My boyfriend and I were in Bangkok for it - we bought water pistols and joined in with soaking everyone in the Patpong area. It was hard to walk anywhere in Bangkok during the festival without either getting soaked or people putting white paste all over your face!

Maybe not along the same vein. But I really like the end of Ramadan. Great food, great atmosphere. Where? Well some of the african stuff I have seen can get a little gory with the whole sheep slaughter thing. But Turkey was pretty good too.

I've not been to festivals outside the country.. but the best I've been to locally would be the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban.... though the best locally would be the Sinulog Festival of Cebu City..

The Masskara festival in Bacolod is also rather good!

oh yeah.. the Masskara Festival should be the closest rival of Sinulog..:D man... I hope I can attend either of the two soon..:D
