I kinda like all the stamps in my passport too but.... THAT PHOTO!!!!!!!! WHAT WAS I THINKING? so I am sort of in 2 minds about whether I will be happy to get my next passport with a better photo of me in it or will I miss all my stamps?

Everybody looks like shit in their passport photo. I have three passports already and I can make Madonna look like an amateur, when it comes to changing looks.

Immigration officers would always ask me if I am the guy in the passports.

I love the stamps too. I don't have many, unfortunately, but I do like flipping through my passport to see the ones I've managed to collect.

The only pity is when crossing borders where I didn't manage to get a stamp, ie from Netherlands into Belgium and England to Scotland.

I have a British passport so each time I travel to a European country I ask specifially for a stamp. Everywhere has been fine and have given me a stamp although they pulled a bit of a face in Paris ;)

I've now started asking immigration people to stamp on a page that has already been stamped, as I only have 3 blank pages left and I don't want to have to pay for another one already as I have 5 years left.

It's a great souvenir of your travels and I love flicking through and looking at all the stamps/visas.

I agree with what you said swept away about being sad when the text doesn't come out clear - I had that recently in Hong Kong where only part of the stamp was clear.

I have three HK stamps that were not perfect.

There should be a law that penalyze these lazy immigration officers who dont understand the value of our stamp collection. I'm thinking about the death penalty.

Seriously, it is a shame on the country that puts the stamp. It means you are so poor to afford ink or that your civil servants are too underpaid to do their job properly.

It is a record of our travel. They should be more careful. And I really hate it when some low life flips through my PHILIPPINE passport like its toilet paper. Some of this officers were practically tearing my passport apart.

Recently, I lost some money. I had to pay an inter cafe. So I told the local that I just have to go to my hotel. The moron asked me to leave my passport. JEEZ! Nothing annoys more than IGNORANCE or Arrogance.... a little cyber shop owner is asking me to surrender my passport because I owe him, 5 rinngit for his ultra expensive rental. I just went ballistic! Moral lesson, never fuck with a Filipino who speaks fluent English. People really need to know the value of this little book. It really annoys me when people would ask for it like its just a school ID.
