Now that the Games have officially closed, how about giving us a summary of how you think your country performed? Has it risen to expectations or incurred your wrath...that more should be done?

I'm sure Jamaicans here have lots to share!

Some Dutchies surprised, some were disappointing.

Some scientific research predicted 20 medals. We had 16. But 7 of them were gold, which is the second highest ever, we had 12 in Sydney.

Waterpolo, hocky, rowing, a few swimmers and our horseriding lady won gold. Many judo women and men won silver or bronze.

People disappointing were Theo Bos (indoor cycling), hockey men, a few female swimmers and Marianne Vos at outdoor cycling (but gold indoor!).

I guess in general I like the way they performed, especially if you compare it to other countries, like Sweden, Spain, Belgium or Ireland.

I am happy about India winning 1 gold and 2 bronze medals which is ironically the best showing since Olympics began in modern era.

There is lot of hope in Boxing and wrestling in the years to come:)

But our runners and other Atheletes continue to disappoint

As always, Canada had surprises both good and bad. Ended up with 18 medals, though--a tie for our second-best-ever placement (not counting the Soviet boycott of LA, where we got 44 medals--thanks, Soviet block!).

The mens 8 sculls took gold after finishing horridly in Athens. And Simon Whitfield--who won gold in Sydney but faded in Athens--came back to win silver in the Triathlon. It was great to watch him at the end, sitting in 4th, throw off his hat and give it his all to pass all but the German (who ran like mad!).

I also like all the coverage, as we got to see lots of other countries competing and tons of touching moments. The Italian winning the 50K fast walk stands out, as does all those Jamaican wins!
