Im looking at my next trip for next year and I was thinking about Thailand for a month. Could someone please tell me when is best to go there, Im planning on going to the islands, phuket probably land in Bankok so spend a few days there. I was wondering when most travellers tend to go over.
Also how much money would you recommend I need, im not planning on living the high life in 5* hotels, more hostels etc try and possible experience how they live out there.
I'm also thinking of Thailand early next year , prob late Jan. to late Feb. as the room rates will go down a little from the very high season and the rains won't have come yet, it's also a little cooler then. Money wise I should think that $50 a day would be the most you'd have to spend and I'm sure you can do it cheaper, flights over seem to be averaging about $1350 round trip from Atlanta/ Charlotte so certainly that will be your major expense. Have a great trip, hope I helped.
Feb & March are probably the best months to visit Thailand. Not peak high season, so costs are not as high, not real hot yet and general dry. Costs vary so much from person to person that any budget offered here will be a guideline only. I am a veggie, don't drink or smoke and generally watch my baht pretty carefully. My last trip to SEA: April-May to VN, Cambodia & Thailand cost me about $700/month. Say $25/day for your basics: food, room, transport. Add tours and you will have an idea of what you will spend for a month.
I have heaps of Thailand photos in my gallery that may help. Send me a PM if you have questions.
